Spring 2016 Workshop:  April 2nd, 2016


Our Spring 2016 Workshop combines multiple formats in order to meet the needs and interests of our diverse membership:
  • Keynote Speaker
  • Technology-based How-To sessions
  • Interactive Small Group Discussions

Come join us for an afternoon of professional development, discussion and networking with your colleagues.  Light lunch and refreshments will be provided during the event.

Fees: $15 pre-registration (before March 30th at 5 pm.); $20 at the door

Keynote: Tony Mollica
Professor emeritus,
Faculty of Education, Brock University


Topic: Learning vocabulary through word games
 
Biography: Tony is an accomplished international speaker, author and academic. 
He has presented at TESL-Ontario conference and local affiliates. He has won several teaching awards and is the editor of Teaching and Learning Languages, a collection of practical and theoretical chapters on second-language teaching and learning.

Technology Workshops

There will also be two technology-based demonstrations. 

Lynsey Duncan and Maddalena Barone, two of our local, tech-savy ESL instructors, will be demonstrating 3 free online programs and how they can be adapted for practical classroom uses.

Small Group Discussions

Building on the momentum from our last workshop,we will once again be having small group discussions focused on topics relevant to you and your needs. 

Interested in proposing a specific topic? Please add in your topic recommendations when you RSVP for the event.  We will choose discussion topics based on the input of our workshop participants.
