MENTAL HEALTH WORKSHOP
David Clarke, Coordinator of Communications and Training for Durham Mental Health Services, spoke to our members about the challenges and available support for those facing Mental Health concerns in our community.
The session looked at the impact of mental health in our classrooms and workplaces. He also provided practical tools and strategies to promote resilience and positive mental health for all.
David has kindly shared (see below) the resources he spoke with us about, including the Presentation PowerPoint, Resiliency Wheel and Resiliency Quiz.

ROUND TABLE DISCUSSIONS
Following the presentation, we broke into smaller groups to discuss our own experiences with Mental Health in the classroom and some of the strategies that we have used (and hope to use) in the future.
The conversations in the room were dynamic and - in many cases - simply inspiring.
The stories and experiences varied from group to group while the commitment to help others was interwoven throughout.
In the slideshow below, you can find the results of our conversations which were recorded on posters and then presented to the group.
If you attended our Spring 2017 Workshop, we'd love to hear from you. Please comment below to let us know your thoughts about the presentation or if you've had a chance to use the materials in your own personal/professional practice.
